After reading this article, I found out this article is good for the readers especially for the university students. The author do not merely gives her personal opinion but this article contains a strong reference and facts. This is proven by the interview of the researcher of unity Research and application IP (UfoRIA), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UITM) Perak, Airil Haimi Mohd Adnan to share his tips for job seeker. However, there are a few fallacies that can be found in the article.

Firstly, this article consists of appeal to tradition fallacy. The example of this fallacy is “memang sudah menjadi lumrah hanya sebilangan kecil graduan sahaja yang akan mendapat kerjaya impian mereka”. The word “lumrah” means something that commonly accepted among communities. Besides that, it is clearly shown that the article has appeal to ignorance. In the article, it is stated that “Graduan mestilah memperoleh Nilai Purata Gred Keseluruhan-PNGK (CGPA) tidak kurang daripada 3.00 dan 3.50 ke atas untuk memohon pekerjaan di firma antarabangsa”. It does not necessarily mean that graduates with good grades can be hired as an employee at job market. This is because, it is also important for graduates to have other skill such as soft skill, and any other professional skills.

In a nutshell, I think the article is very suitable for the readers because it contains a lot of facts. The formula produced by the researcher can be used as a guide for university students and youth who are in pursue of their dream career.

The first perception once I finished reading this article is interesting. But this article only consist personal opinion without providing any evidence. I discovered that the author was taking advantage by saying “because I am an adult and I know better” and “because I am ‘The Guru of Cool” to convince the readers to believe him and follow the steps to become cool teenagers without hesitation. This statement show there is appeal to inappropriate authority fallacy. The question is, should we follow the steps he recommends? This is because I think nobody is perfect and sometimes adult also can make mistakes.

Besides that, it is clearly shown that the article has slippery slope fallacy. The statement that shows this type of fallacy is “smoking really bad for health. It makes your teeth go yellow and gives a pungent stench to your sweat”. These are all the bad effects of smoking. Moreover, this article also consists of appeal to tradition. It is obvious by statement “I know, I know, some of you are allowed to drink alcohol when you come of age. For non-Muslims, they are allowed to drink alcohol by their parent once they have reach age of maturity.

As a conclusion, this article is interesting to read but it is nonsense to act as a reference to teenagers. He just writes this article based on his experience and his personal opinion. Not all teenagers can accept his article because they want something different from these steps to become cool.

Based on my reading of the issues discussed in the newspapers, I found this issue addressed to graduates that related to their career. Research carried out by a recognized researcher had convinced me about the formula produced by him, namely 6 Career Formula. Evidences revealed by him have shown the effectiveness of the formula. However, there is an element of fallacy in this issue, namely slippery slope where the author says "Segelintir graduan gagal dalam aspek Kemahiran Insan mereka. Akibatnya, mereka langsung tidak dapat meyakinkan penemuduga ketika menghadiri temu duga" but the lack of technical skill can also mess up a graduate. Besides, this issue also contained the fallacy of appeal to ignorance like "Bagi yang tidak berjaya mendapat pekerjaan, mereka harus berfikir di luar kotak dan menjadikan keusahawanan sebagai kerjaya pilihan". For me, this research is lack of proof because many of them carry out the business half-way when the business cannot return back capital the and finally use an easy way to get money by working in a place that does not require interview session regardless of how much the salary as long as it covers the education loans. This article also has an appeal to tradition where researchers claimed that "Memang sudah lumrah hanya sebilangan kecil graduan saja yang akan dapat mencapai kerjaya impian mereka" but in contrary, lack of vacancies. As conclusion, I am very interested in this research because there is some information that are beneficial to me in preparation to embrace the occupational environment.

After reading and understands the article written by the author, I found that this article provided some tips to teens to be a cool person or in other word it refers to the formation of an individual. The ideas presented by the author in this article are more to the effects of negative life regarding teenagers currently. However, as a teenager we should not accept all the fact in this article blindly. This is because the author is just presenting his opinion based on personal opinion in which he stated that he is an adult and has been through childhood therefore he knew and had a lot of experiences. There is the element of fallacy which is appeal to inappropriate authority. For example when he mentioned  himself as' The Guru of Cool ',it is clearly shown that this author has declared himself as a great man without being supported by any strong evidences and only because he was an adult. Apart from that, this article is also inserting other element of fallacy such as appeal to ignorance in which the author simply draws the conclusion because of the lack of proof. For instance, he stated that he found traces of poison in ecstasy. In my opinion, this author is not an expert in this field and therefore his conclusion is based on general knowledge. In conclusion, this article is very interesting and fun to read because the author gives some tips that is also beneficial to readers especially to me.

The 7 Steps of Highly Cool People

Firstly, I think this is an interesting article to be read. However, I was wondering was this really been written by The Guru of Cool? Just because the author thinks that his lifestyle was cool to him and he is an adult does not make him The Guru of Cool. Base on statement, there is begging the question and appeal to ignorance fallacies. How can he prove by following his step we can be cool kids which mean wise kids? He makes the references just base on his lifestyle. There are other fallacies that the author includes into this article.

The first fallacies that the author includes in the article are slippery slope. Base on the statement “smoking is really bad for health. It makes you teeth go yellow and gives pungent stench to your sweat. It is an expensive habit too.” I think the statement is basically more on man. How about the female? What is the effect of smoking towards them? Next, “Some of you are allowed to drink alcohol when you come of age’. Base on this statement, this is an appeal to tradition fallacies. For the non-Muslim teenagers, once they reach the age of maturity they are allowed to drink by their parents.

Overall this is an interesting article but the author wrote base on his experience and not all kids can accept his way. Kids nowadays are different with the 'old school' kids. They want something different from what past had tried to be cool.
