The 7 Steps of Highly Cool People
Firstly,
I think this is an interesting article to be read. However, I was wondering was
this really been written by The Guru of Cool? Just because the author thinks
that his lifestyle was cool to him and he is an adult does not make him The
Guru of Cool. Base on statement, there is begging the question and appeal to
ignorance fallacies. How can he prove by following his step we can be cool kids
which mean wise kids? He makes the references just base on his lifestyle. There
are other fallacies that the author includes into this article.
The first
fallacies that the author includes in the article are slippery slope. Base on
the statement “smoking is really bad for health. It makes you teeth go yellow
and gives pungent stench to your sweat. It is an expensive habit too.” I think
the statement is basically more on man. How about the female? What is the
effect of smoking towards them? Next, “Some of you are allowed to drink alcohol
when you come of age’. Base on this statement, this is an appeal to tradition
fallacies. For the non-Muslim teenagers, once they reach the age of maturity
they are allowed to drink by their parents.
Overall
this is an interesting article but the author wrote base on his experience and
not all kids can accept his way. Kids nowadays are different with the 'old school'
kids. They want something different from what past had tried to be cool.
