After reading and understands the article written by
the author, I found that this article provided some tips to teens to be a cool
person or in other word it refers to the formation of an individual. The ideas
presented by the author in this article are more to the effects of negative
life regarding teenagers currently. However, as a teenager we should not accept
all the fact in this article blindly. This is because the author is just
presenting his opinion based on personal opinion in which he stated that he is
an adult and has been through childhood therefore he knew and had a lot of
experiences. There is the element of fallacy which is appeal to inappropriate
authority. For example when he mentioned himself as' The Guru of Cool
',it is clearly shown that this author has declared himself as a great man
without being supported by any strong evidences and only because he was an
adult. Apart from that, this article is also inserting other element of fallacy
such as appeal to ignorance in which the author simply draws the conclusion
because of the lack of proof. For instance, he stated that he found traces of
poison in ecstasy. In my opinion, this author is not an expert in this field
and therefore his conclusion is based on general knowledge. In conclusion, this
article is very interesting and fun to read because the author gives some tips
that is also beneficial to readers especially to me.
